Initial training is 4 days over two weekends, then there is a mandatory monthly training session to keep skills up to date.
If a responder misses 3 consecutive monthly training sessions they will be stood down from Responding until assessments can be undertaken to requalify.
The first two days will be intensive, they cover essential information, including Law, Scope of Practice and Procedures.
The Assessment of Patients and awareness of what to expect within the surroundings of the scene. Knowledge of where AED's are within the community.
Practical Skills and Assessments are included in the training weekends, including Record Keeping and associated paperwork for handover to Ambulance Crew on Arrival.
Training for Blairgowrie is held in the Tayside Mountain Rescue Centre off Welton Road (past Tesco).
A call is placed with 999, Ambulance Control will triage and then contact the On Call CFR if it meets the criteria for a CFR Deployment. CFR's are dispatched through Radio.
Each Responder will be required to be on call for a minimum of 12 Hours Per Month, this way you can fit it around your family and personal life, a rota system will be created to maximise coverage and aim to meet everyones requirements.
It costs approx £3000 for one kit bag and contents.
