Our Volunteers are trained by the Scottish Ambulance Service to attend certain types of emergency calls within the Blairgowrie and Rattray Area.
Ambulance Control will deploy the "On-Duty" CFR via App/Radio, the CFR will then make their way safely to the location of the potential life-threatening emergency in the first vital minutes after calling 999, aiming to arrive before the Ambulance Crew.
The role of the First Responder is to help stabilise the patient and provide the appropriate care until the more highly-skilled ambulance crew arrives on scene to take over the treatment.
Responders are based in rural communities where ambulance crews have longer distances to travel to a patient.
